In other news: California Assembly Approves Financial Aid for Illegal Immigrants
In case you missed it, the California State Assembly approved bil SB160 which requires the University of California, California State University and state community colleges to allow illegal immigrants be eligable to apply for all of the student aid programs.

Let me get this straight: Come to the United States illegally and feel free to consume taxpayer funded resources.
"...[b]ut Assemblyman Hector De La Torre, D-South Gate (Los Angeles County), argued that students who work hard shouldn't be punished because of their immigration status. "This simply allows these kids that are working their butts off to live their version of the American dream," he said. "

(San Francisco Chronicle 08/30/2006)

By that arguement I shouldn't be punished if I were to rob a bank and use that money to live my fantasy version of the American dream. I mean, I work hard, a hell of a lot harder than an illegal immigrant who has time to go to school, so I should be able to commit crimes and use that as an excuse no?
A Republican in San Francisco (Yes, he's under deep cover) relays his tales of interest... ...ok, "interest" is a strong and subjective word but you get the point.
